The Ant to Zip workbooks involve a structured synthetic phonic approach using multi-sensory methods. At no point is the pupil required to read or write any spelling pattern or language structure which has not been specifically taught. Failure is, therefore largely eliminated and rote memory is kept to a minimum. The activities and exercises throughout the programme are varied and involve relevant colourful illustrations which help to reinforce learning, and at the same time enlist a high level of interest and motivation.
